Symfio + Money S3: Small business accounting as the basis for big decisions

Money S3 is one of the most widely used accounting programs among smaller companies in the Czech Republic. An accountant can handle the complete agenda in it, from invoices and payroll to the year end closing. The owner or managing director, however, usually receives only monthly statements, often late and in a format that mainly the accountant understands. Symfio closes this gap. It connects to Money S3 data and turns it into clear management reporting, a cash flow outlook and a plan versus actual comparison. The accountant keeps working in the program they know, while you watch the company in your browser. Anytime, from anywhere, without waiting for the end of the month.

What does connecting Symfio and Money S3 bring you?

  1. Automatic synchronization of accounting data

The Symfio connector regularly loads data from Money S3, so your reports always work with current numbers. No more exporting statements by hand, saving them to Excel and forwarding files by e-mail. Once the accountant posts the documents, the changes appear in Symfio with the next synchronization.

  1. Reporting and cash flow without Excel

The profit and loss statement, balance sheet, overview of receivables and payables and the cash flow development are all compiled automatically. Symfio also includes a short term cash flow planning tool that shows how much money will come in and go out over the following weeks. At the end of the month you no longer sit over spreadsheets; the results are ready before you even think of them.

  1. Dashboards that make sense outside finance too

Money S3 data is displayed in charts and overviews that work for the owner, the managing director and department heads alike. You do not need to know the chart of accounts by heart. When a detail interests you, a few clicks take you all the way down to individual documents.

  1. Management accounting tailored to you

Symfio allows custom categorization and tagging beyond the chart of accounts. Cost centers, projects, activities and analytical accounts can be arranged the way you actually run the company. You can see, for example, the profitability of individual branches or the costs of a specific project, without the accountant having to change how they post entries.

  1. Better cooperation with an external accountant

Many smaller companies outsource their bookkeeping. With Symfio in place, you no longer have to request every statement and wait for a reply. The accountant posts, you look at the results. Both sides lose the back and forth that nobody enjoys.

How the connection works

Symfio runs in the cloud, so there is nothing to install on your side and no extra hardware to buy. The connector links to Money S3 data and synchronizes it regularly, typically overnight. When you need fresh numbers right away. Symfio does not write into the accounting itself; it only reads the data.

The technical part of implementation usually takes tens of minutes. The managerial part takes longer: setting up the reporting structure, categorization and plans. How long it takes depends on how well your company has its financial management thought through. If you have no finance manager and want to start from scratch, we can help through our fractional CFO services.
