Effectix got from 6 months with zero results to a fully working reporting in a single day

Six months of work. Even net profit wasn’t calculated correctly.

Effectix, a leading Czech-Slovak brandformance digital agency with over 60 specialists and a turnover exceeding CZK 125 million, needed a clear financial overview of the group. They outsourced the development of a reporting solution to an external vendor.

After more than six months of development and prototyping, the results were presented to management. During those 6 months, the client and their tax advisor spent countless hours reviewing a half-baked product presented on numerous calls. It was a drain on both time and money that failed to deliver the desired outcome. During the presentation, the dashboard data did not match the figures in the accounting system. The core deliverable for which the project was commissioned did not work, was confusing, and was completely unusable.

Effectix paid the external vendor for the integration, but regular reporting never materialized, and the project was terminated at the end of September 2025 with zero functional results. Wasted time, wasted resources, zero results. Effectix needed a working solution as soon as possible.

Symfio deployed financial reporting for both group entities, Effectix CZ and Effectix SK, within a single business day. The connection was made directly to their existing accounting software, Pohoda, without any data migration or system replacements. Historical data for 2023–2025 was available immediately upon launch.

The reporting setup provides a complete, real-time financial picture of the group:

• Profit and Loss (P&L) statement – consolidated for the group as well as for individual entities.

• Cash flow – an overview of cash movements and liquidity.

• Consolidated view – intercompany relationships and eliminations between Effectix CZ and Effectix SK.

GROWTH

Interim CFO: strategic management without a full-time position.

The collaboration did not end with the reporting launch. Symfio began providing Effectix with an interim CFO service, offering regular financial support at a strategic management level without the need to hire a full-time internal CFO. This gave Effectix access to experienced financial leadership exactly when needed, with no fixed overhead, no onboarding, and no recruitment risks.

While the collaboration was intensive at first, it now requires just a few hours per month. External CFO Dan Kmoch regularly reviews the monthly closing, coordinates communication with the accountant and tax advisor, and manages the entire process from a project perspective.

Effectix now has its data organized clearly and accurately. The reporting follows the exact logic top management is used to and truly reflects how they view the business at Effectix. Months of frustration and hundreds of hours of work with zero output were replaced by a single day of work with Symfio.

The actual connection to Pohoda took just a few hours, but the truly critical work came next: converting that data into a format suitable for managerial reporting. The client worked closely with Dan on this phase for about 3 months. Simply connecting data from an accounting system is not enough. Data must be presented in a way that serves company management based on the corporate structure and business model. This is where the value of an external CFO comes in. He thoroughly understood the business, advised on necessary accounting adjustments to make the reporting meaningful, acted as a project manager throughout the intensive phase, coordinated tasks with the accountants, and verified the implementation.

The project no longer requires active management. Effectix now needs the external CFO for only the aforementioned few hours a month, and this requirement will continue to decrease in the future. Thanks to Dan’s experience, Effectix has gained valuable long-term financial management expertise.
